
Marika blonner, clinical psychology registrar
Marika is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar who completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University. Marika loves working with children and young people and uses a warm and personalised approach to therapy. She provides psychological skills in a way that is easy to understand and that aims to empower young people and their families.
Marika works with a variety of mental health difficulties including anxiety, phobias, depression, stress, adjustment to loss and life changes, emotion regulation, and difficulties with studying or organisation. She mainly utilises a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach in conjunction with some Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches.
Marika has a particular interest and specialised experience with delivering Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in children and young people, and was previously part of the OCD Busters research team at Griffith University. Marika also has experience in providing an emotion regulation skills program (ROAR) to children with ADHD and their parents.
Marika is interested in research and always uses an evidence-based approach to therapy. She has also completed a Master of Research (Psychology) at Macquarie University.
