JENNY YANG, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY REGISTRAR
Jenny is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar who completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Macquarie University. She adopts a warm and holistic approach to understanding each person’s needs, and works collaboratively to tailor evidence-based treatments to best suit each person.
Jenny works with adults and older adolescents with a range of mental health issues including mood and depression, anxiety (including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, panic, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), emotion regulation (including stress and anger), sleep difficulties, disordered eating, and grief and loss.
Jenny has a particular interest in perinatal mental health and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) groups. Outside of her work at Approach Psychology, she provides counselling services to expectant and new parents for the Gidget Foundation.
Jenny predominantly works within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, and utilises elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness, to best suit each person. She completed her postgraduate training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Professor Marie Bashir Centre, Centre for Emotional Health Clinic at Macquarie University, and the University Clinic at Macquarie University. She has also worked as a Clinical Trials Co-ordinator for eating disorder research studies at Westmead Hospital and the Westmead Institute for Medical Research.
Jenny is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.
